Ancestry gives you records. The Unbroken Table gives you the table.
Every family has a recipe that lives in one person's hands. When they are gone, the card in the drawer is often all that's left, and too often nobody knows whose writing it is.

Originals are kept exactly as they were: the stains, the crossings-out, the corner folded down.
Why we're building this
Recipe apps keep ingredients. Family trees keep dates. Neither keeps the person: their words, their handwriting, the way they taught you. The Unbroken Table is built the other way round. The person comes first, and everything they left gathers around them.
What we hold to
The person comes first
Each person has a place of their own. Recipes, originals, photographs and stories belong to them, not the other way round.
The original is never overwritten
A photographed card is kept exactly as it was captured. Readable versions and gentle restorations sit beside it. The stain is part of the story.
Keep first, read second
The original is saved before anything else happens. If handwriting can't be read yet, nothing is lost. 'Not yet readable' is fine.
Private by default
Nothing leaves your table unless someone chooses. Nobody joins without an invitation.
Every family, every language
Any script, any measurement, any family shape. No kitchen is the default one.
Who we are
The Unbroken Table is made by The Unbroken Table Limited in Aotearoa New Zealand. We are building carefully, because what you keep here can't be replaced.
